Former President Benigno Aquino III’s appeal to the Ombudsman to dismiss criminal charges against him for instituting the unconstitutional P72-billion Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP) has drawn ire from various sectors.

Retired General Abe Purugganan explained the breakdown of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) with around 30{cb340d88dddb840bcd4e977f31059be70f18e70d53f7b424d7c6701d9214b877} to 50{cb340d88dddb840bcd4e977f31059be70f18e70d53f7b424d7c6701d9214b877} of the fund accorded to the legislator while 5{cb340d88dddb840bcd4e977f31059be70f18e70d53f7b424d7c6701d9214b877} to 10{cb340d88dddb840bcd4e977f31059be70f18e70d53f7b424d7c6701d9214b877} is given to the “nakakataas”.

He further asserted that the PDAF the Aquino government used comes from the toils of the masses which, in turn, the Yellows use for personal gain and corruption.

“Tapos ‘Dismiss” pa daw. Sobra na ang pag-aalisputa at pag-sasamantala sa atin na mamamayan,” Purugganan said.

Advertisement He challenged the public to go beyond exposes, investigations, and criticisms in holding Aquino and his cohorts responsible for misuse of the public’s funds.

It has been 30 years since Aquinos sat in power and usurped the strife of the Filipino masses, Purugganan said that under the Duterte administration the Filipinos’ hard-earned money should be taken back from the Yellows.

Aquino’s appeal to the Ombudsman to drop the allegations against him was because the cases being thrown against him were already part of the old issues that had already been settled with the Ombudsman long ago.

In his counter affidavit, Aquino said that the “complainants cannot allege, much less show, that any private individual or entity was unduly benefited or enriched in the execution of the DAP, or that the public suffered injury or damage.”

However, Purugganan said that without concrete and assertive steps taken, the Yellows would only go back to their old ways.

Hanggang kailan ba sila pagbibigyan? Hindi pa ba kayo nagsawa? Hanggang expose, puna, batikos at imbistigasyon na lang ba tayo tapos makakalimutan na? Sila naman ay balik sa dating gawi.

Sa totoo lang nakakasawa na. 30 taon mag mula ng umupo ang mga Aquino yan na ang ginagawa ng mga taong ito.

Panalangin ko na lang na magkaisa ang buong mamayan sa pamumuno ni Digong na gibain at sunugin ang karumaldumal na gawain na ganito. At bawiin sa kanila ang lahat na ninakaw nila sa taong bayan.”
