BAM AQUINO INAMING MAHINA ANG STANDING NG OPPOSITION SA SENATORIAL CANDIDATES “”KAILANGAN NG TAUMBAYAN ANG OPOSISYON!”

Opposition Senator Benigno Paolo “Bam” Aquino IV admitted that the Liberal  Party (LP)  needs to work extra hard to come up with a senatorial slate that would allow the Senate to be more independent.

Bam Aquino who is critical to President Duterte administration said on Monday that the opposition party is now coordinating with non-traditional political groups, church organization, socio-civil organization and cause-oriented groups.

“Natutuwa naman tayo na nasama tayo sa list of possible winners pero sabi ko nga sana mas maraming nasa oposisyon ang makapasok din. Anyway, isang taon pa naman po yan. That only means kailangang doblehin ang efforts ng opposition para mas dumami kami na makasama sa Magic 12.”

Bam Aquino was the only member of the opposition party among those who have the statistical chances of winning for Senatorial race on the recent Pulse Asia survey.

“Sa palagay ko pagdating ng election, maa-appreciate ng taumbayan ng kailangan ng oposisyon. Hindi kailangan na iisang panig lang at kung meron mang pagtutol na kailangang gawin, kailangan sapat ang aming numero sa Senado.”

There are six senators in the Senate minority bloc, including Bam Aquino, Franklin M. Drilon, Risa Hontiveros, Francis Pangilinan, Leila de Lima and Antonio Trillanes IV.
  
“Hindi pa kami nag uusap tungkol dito. Hindi ko pa rin alam, pero ang alam ko may mga grupo ng inuudyok siyang tumakbo,” Aquino’s answered when asked if Manuel “Mar” Roxas will be included in the LP senatorial slate.

“Sa aking experience sa politika, yung mga pangalan, line-up nangyayari na ang filing of candidacy. Sa tingin ko marami pang mangyayari. A lot of things are still going to happen in our country. Baka yung ibang nasa kabilang panig, mag iba ng panig. Who knows kung ano ang final line-up natin”

The senator also said that LP is also open to accepting and adopting re-electionist from other parties to be part of their line-up.

“Bukas naman po tayo diyan at tingin ko ang pinakamahalaga ay nagkaroon ng mas maraming numero dito sa Senado at maging mas independent yung ating Senado.”

“Ang mahalaga, at least para sa amin sa oposisyon, magkaroon ng mas maraming numero dito sa Senado.” he added.

Senator Bam was also asked as to the possible role of ex-President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III in the Liberal Party election campaign “siyempre bilang isang former President marami pa ring mga tao na gustong malaman kung ano ang panig niya. I’m sure he will be supportive of the opposition.”
