Trillanes Defends Himself Against Duterte’s Supporters: What Do You Call Yourselves Heroes?

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, a staunch critic of Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, defended himself against Duterte supporters and protectors and said that the only reason why he left in the Philippines was to push the interests of the country.

In one of Trillanes’ statements he said, “nagtraydor daw ako sa bayan dahil nakipagusap ako kay US Sen. Marco Rubio kahit pa sinabi na nya mismo na PH-US alliance, corruption and human rights situationang pinaguusapan namin.”

Duterte supporters reacted because they already knew that Trillanes is a master of fabricated stories and in reality that he met with senior US government officials to pin down the president.

In a blog post of Mr. Alon Calinao Dy, he said, “I think that meeting with US senators and other US government officials is to accuse President Duterte for extrajudicial killings and human rights violations when in fact the president is only doing his job properly to protect the country and its people.”

Trillanes also denied the allegations that he went to the US to convince influential officials to stop the state visit of US President Donald Trump scheduled next month. But the question is, what’s really the main reason why Trillanes needed to meet with US senators and some US government officials? What are his future plans?
