Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, malapit na raw ma-aprubahan ang ‘free lunch’ program ng Duterte Administration. Layon ng programa na masolusyunan ang malnutrisyon sa mga kabataan.

Balak daw ipatupad ito sa mga pambulikong paaralan, partikular sa mga kindergarten at elementary levels.

Matatandaang noong kapanahunan ni dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos ay may isinagawa ring halos-parehong programa.

Ibinabahagi noon ang ‘Nutribun’ sa mga mag-aaral. Ang naturang tinapay ay parang pandesal na mas masustansiya.
