Duterte blasts Teddy Casino: Huwag kang masyadong mahanbog, what is your contribution to our nation-building? Nothing, except theft and destruction,”
President Rodrigo Duterte has slammed former Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Teddy Casino for his alleged arrogant behavior when he campaigned in Davao City years before to land a seat in Congress.
On Thursday, July 27, during a media interview, Duterte blasted former Bayan Muna representative Teddy Casiño for supposedly “arrogant” behavior years ago during a campaign event in Davao City.
Duterte ranted against the former leftist lawmaker in the middle of his tirade against the Communist Party of the Philippines.
He claimed that Casiño acted inappropriately in a campaign event Duterte held in Davao City when he was running for mayor.
“Sabihin mo umakyat kayo sa stage walang permiso. bakit? Noong nagkampanya kayo noon sa Davao, tumatakbo akong mayor, tumatakbo kayo ng mga partylist, bigla kayong dumating, umakyat kayo sa stage, nagpermiso kayo sa akin?” Duterte asked.
“I was campaigning then, then you – dumating kayo ang you assumed na magkaibigan tayo ang akyat kayo sa stage. Hindi ka na nga nagpasalamat sa speech ninyo na, binigyan kamo ng panahaon ni Duterte na makipag-usap sa inyo,” he added.
Duterte said Casino’s head has becoame so big his brain “does not work at all.”
‘huwag kang masyadong mahanbog, wala kang maipakitang ano. what is your contribution to our nation-building? Nothing, except theft and destruction,” Duterte said.
In a Facebook post after Duterte’s appearance at the People’s SONA, Casino said he was unsure why the President wanted to see the rallyists.
“Maybe he simply wanted to explain why his government has failed so far in delivering the change he promised. He even asked us to be patient and not to rush him. But if he really listened, it’s not the pace of the change but the direction of his programs and policies that leftists are questioning.”

“Last night, we got the surprise of our lives. Pres. Duterte asked to speak before the People’s SONA rally. Never happened before.
“Agad-agad na nag-usap ang mga lider ng rally. Papayagan ba natin? Oo. Baka naman may magandang sasabihin. Baka hilingin niya na maging bridge ang mass movement to resume the peace talks. Pero kahit na ano pa yan, he is the President and we should accord him the respect he deserves so pagsalitain natin and make sure the crowd does not go overboard in reacting if he says crazy things.
“Minutes before he arrived, the rally leaders assembled to welcome him and hopefully give him a last-minute briefing on our issues and concerns. Coming down from his vehicle, Duterte gave us a glance but totally ignored us. We were swept aside by his tide of PSGs.
Duterte with his posse rushed straight up the stage and delivered his piece. He asked for respect. Wow. This is the guy who, minutes earlier in his speech inside Congress, badmouthed us and told us to go home kasi walang silbi ang aming pagra-rally.
“He then claimed the armed Left tried to ambush him. Wow, fake news. Batuhan na lang daw namin siya ng granada sa stage. Wow, bad joke. Na-praning tuloy ang mga PSG.
“I’m not so sure why Duterte did what he did. If he wanted engagement with the crowd, he got it. If he had asked the leaders to be with him on stage and perhaps tell him what the shouting was all about, it might have resulted in something better. But he wanted a solo act.
“Maybe he simply wanted to explain why his government has failed so far in delivering the change he promised. He even asked us to be patient and not to rush him. But if he really listened, it’s not the pace of the change but the direction of his programs and policies that leftists are questioning.
“The parliament of the streets is not like Congress na punung-puno ng kaplastikan. Dito, hindi bayad ng pork barrel ang audience.
“Hindi uubra sa mulat na taumbayan yang pamboboladas at pagmumura at pambu-bully na ginawa ni Duterte sa SONA. Sa lansangan, pag sinabi mong “putang ina mo,” may sasagot sa iyo nang “putang ina mo rin.”
