Magdalo Party-list Representative Gary Alejano said that his possible senatorial run for the 2019 midterm elections will depend on the call of the higher officers of his party.

“I am grateful for Senator Trillanes’ trust and belief on my qualifications, especially given the importance of the position in question and the responsibilities it bears,” Alejano said.

Trillanes has previously said that they wanter Alejano to run for the position.

“Kaya natin tinutulak si Congressman Alejano sa pagtakbo sa senador itong 2019 ay para may titindig pa rin laban sa mga pang-aabuso nito Duterte,” Trillanes said.

(The reason why we are pushing Alejano to run for Senate this 2019 is so that there will be someone to stand against the abuses of Duterte.)

Advertisement Alejano said  that he is willing to take in the challenge, if ever, considering that he sees his influence and action as a “lifetime commitment”.

“On my part, I believe that the cause we started in 2003 for the country is a lifetime commitment; and I strive to always act in line with the principles Magdalo has stood for,” Alejano said.

“Henceforth, whatever decision the group will have, I will adhere to the wisdom of the body,” he added.

Alejano added that the Magdalo executive committee is still assessing their possible candidates and their level of participation in the 2019 elections.
